About Me
My name is Pamela Denne and I am the School Counselor at Barnard Elementary. I received my Master's Degree in School Counseling from National-Louis University in 2008. Before becoming a school counselor, I was a classroom teacher and taught various grade levels from PreK to 5th. I am now going on my 6th year as the school counselor at Barnard. I work in several different roles, but I am mostly available to help:
My personal goal as school counselor is to provide a warm and safe environment where each student, parent, and staff member love being at Barnard! Each day is a new day! We want our students and families to know that we care about them as a person and that they are valued.
- promote positive attitudes among students towards self, family, peers and community
- assist students in learning how school performance relates to achieving goals
- work with students, parents, and school staff to identify learning needs and to find interventions that will enhance student success
- provide small group and individual counseling
- provide support during a personal crisis
- coordinate referrals to outside agencies
- help to create a safe and positive learning experience for all students
